On a climb in firn, a break on a windy pass, or a long descent in freezing conditions – this is exactly when you will appreciate extra insulation for the thighs and hips without unnecessary added weight.

The active insulation Polartec® Alpha® Direct combines thermal comfort with one of the highest levels of breathability on the market – it warms, while also effectively wicking away excess moisture, so you maintain a pleasant body climate even during intense movement. Since Alpha® Direct does not require an inner lining, it helps reduce the overall weight of the shorts without compromising thermal insulation. The lightweight elastic 2-layer membrane (10 000 mm / 10 000 g/m²/24h) protects against wind, snowfall, and moisture in exposed mountain conditions. The extended cut reliably covers the entire thighs down to the knees, while the fleece panel at the waist increases both movement and thermal comfort. Full-length side zippers allow you to put the shorts on directly over trousers without taking off ski boots or ski touring boots, so you can add extra warmth exactly when you need it.
